Nosebleed Interactive is a multi-award winning independent studio based in Newcastle upon Tyne, in the heart of the North East of England. We’ve worked with some of the world’s biggest companies, brands and content providers such as Channel 4 and Sony Interactive Entertainment.

At our core, we're all gamers, passionate about playing and making great games and entertainment software. Our focus is on crafting unique, fun and inclusive experiences. We're always striving to exceed expectations with what we do.

We've been named as one of the Top 50 creative companies in the country by Creative England. We also won the PlayStation Mobile Pioneers competition, as well as best small to medium business in the Newcastle Business Awards. Alongside this we were one of the first handful of companies to receive support from the prestigious UK Games Fund.

As well as traditional games we also look to diversify and take our skills into newer emerging markets, not just globally, but also within industries not usually associated with videogames such as healthcare and education.

Our second game Vostok Inc. is a cross platform twin stick shooter meets idle clicker game. As with The Hungry Horde we've packed it full of content to unlock and cool stuff to find. It launched in 2017 across all major platforms to critical praise. The game is avalible to buy now on Nintendo Switch (including a free demo), PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita, Xbox One, Steam, Kartridge, Android TV as well as Amazon Fire TV.

Vostok Inc. is a casual game for a hardcore audience and a hardcore game for a casual audience. The premise is that you’re a corrupt, narcissistic yuppie, out to make as much money as possible. Think the Wolf of Wall Street…in Space!

It’s a twin stick shooter for the modern age. An age where audiences are limited by time and want to be able to play when they want, how they want, and on whatever devices they want. Want to play on console whilst sitting on the sofa? Sure. Fancy a quick game on handheld whilst on the bus? Go ahead. Want the game to reward you whilst it’s playing itself, on your mobile whilst at work? Don’t let us stop you!

Our First game, The Hungry Horde, shipped in November 2014 as part of the PlayStation Plus instant game collection.

It's a love letter to Videogames. An action strategy game where you control a horde of zombies and infect the living, whilst avoiding being nuked by the Government. It features a whole host of extras including arcade minigames, a character creator and what was apparently "the coolest credits sequence in the history of games"... according to Sony!

In its first week the title was downloaded over 360k times, and we've had fans contact us from as far away as South Korea and Brazil to thank us for making the game.

We followed the game wish some downloadable content that added extra levels, new music and an entirely new minigame, as well as some under the hood tweaks. You can buy The Hungry Horde for PlayStation Vita here.

As well as developing our own content we are available on a work for hire/contract basis. We take the same passion and dedication we apply to our own projects to everything we do. Whether that's for a week's worth of 3D modelling, or helping to take your concept through prototyping and right up to completion.

We're fully equipped (and experienced) to handle development across PlayStation Vita, PS4, Xbox One, Wii U, PC, Android and iOS, and whilst the bulk of our projects have used Unity, we're platform agnostic, with experience in Unreal, native WebGL and even having developed our own 3D PlayStation Mobile engine.

We're able to help out with development (C++, C#, Java, etc), concept art, game ready 3D asset creation (characters & environment), and design consultancy, and we offer competitive rates for short, mid and long term pieces of work.

Whilst the majority of projects have been in traditional game development we have done plenty of work in the arts, culture and commercial sectors too. An interesting example was a project with Newcastle University to deliver a new healthcare service focusing on the gamification of rehabilitative therapy for stroke patients. We worked closely with medical experts within Newcastle University and patients to come up with a system that could easily be understood and used by players, who were not necessarily computer literate and/or had limited mobility.

Virtual reality offers an entirely new way of interacting and experiencing the digital world. It's set to become a new medium in its own right with entirely new design paths and challenges to overcome. As a tech and design focussed company we're looking to embrace these challenges and already have experience in all major VR systems.

We've developed our own projects in PlayStation VR, as well as doing client work on a range of projects across HTC Vive, Google Cardboard, Oculus Rift and Google Daydream.

Alongside developing our own VR projects we've helped out with elements for the HTC Vive version Wolf & Wood's critically acclaimed horror game "A Chair in a Room". While the original was number one in google play's cardboard category for over a year and a half, the Vive version takes things much further, offering amazing immersive room scale horror. In addition we've offered code support on an incredibly exciting (especially for the fans in the office) Star Trek VR experience for mobile VR, once again working with Wolf & Wood. It will be avaliable via the Google Play store soon.

We've also done a significant amount of work on Vicarious, a fun and connected VR social media network for Google Daydream, that allows you to use the photos and videos from your phone to create immersive scenes with audio, 360 photos/videos, stickers, emoji, 3D animated characters, particle effects, and environments. You'll be able to make and share awesome VR slideshows from your VR ready smartphone when it launches later in the year.
